I have never heard of this caliber and was wondering what you guys think of it?? I have a Winchester lever action that is in that caliber. All I know is the shells are big! I can just imagine the recoil. Think it would be enough for bear or overkill for deer? Thanks for any help you van offer.
Ballistically, it is almost identical to the .35 Remington - a good short-range rifle for deer and black bear. It is a juiced-up .38/55, a cartridge which originated in the early 1880's. But still a good one......
