I won't be looking to kill overly large hogs but something in the 100 lb. class. This is what has been suggested by the guys down there as "good eat'n pigs".

I'll probably bring my 7mm-08 for the whitetails. Is this an appropriate hog gun?
It will kill them as dead as you want.
I've been told the whitetails are smaller here than our bigger northern deer, if so, might I choose a smaller caliber such as the .243 for both.
Many, many deer have been killed with it! I use a 6.5mmSwede which is'nt much bigger than the .243, but I'm using 140gr bullets.
