I haven't used the 165 XLC yet, but I think I should get about 3100 fps muzzle velocity which should translate to about 2500 fps @ 300yds with the energy being about 2300 ft-lbs. That is about 500 ft-lbs more than the 180 Partition. If I can get an accurate load, it should be good on elk.
