but you also would let a deer suffer for hours when you could put it out of it's misery?
First of all a deer doesnt' "suffer for hours" if it has a hole through 2 lungs.To be honest with ya if I whacked deer in the ass and needed to use a flashlight to go hunt them afterwards to killit........... I probably wouldn'twant to be in the woods. Not quite my style thanks. I understand bad shots happen. And sit down for this one GUS........ even I have made a less than perfect shot ondeer before [:-]
Again though, shooting a deer at night never has to be an option JMO.
I see......... so the philosophy is this: Any deer you shoot you need to immediately start bloodtrailing/tracking it and find it before it expires to finish it off with a second shot so it doesn't "suffer" one more minute?In other words literally chase the deer after the shot?Are you being serious? That's really how you hunt?I'm surprised I dont' hear more shots at night ifit's true thatsthe way it should happen. Like someone else said I'm glad a lot of you don't bowhunt. There would be a lot of unrecovered deer in the woods.
Hey everyone has their opinion and it's obvious what they are. I find this situation having next to nothing to do with morally right thing to do or ethics. But whatever makes ya sleep at night I guess. It would be ethically wrong to go after that deer, jump it, have it run 3 counties away, leave you with no bloodtrail, and expire someplace for the coyotes to feast on.90% of the time that deer is off and running.The fact that DD was fortunate enough for that not to happen THIS time doesn't make it any better in my book.It's taking deer in an illegal manner period and I'm sorry but I justwont condone that.
