Default Hunters have no Voice

Even though below is true.

WASHINGTON, DC - Spending over $70 billion dollars a year in pursuit of their pastime, America’s hunters and anglers would rank #11 on the Fortune 500 if they formed a corporation, according to a new report released today by the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation and the National Shooting Sports Foundation. Over 38 million Americans enjoy the outdoors - twice the number of labor unions members - and sportsmen support 1.2 million jobs, well more than Wal-Mart™, the country’s largest employer. American sportsmen are a demographic group worth a closer look.
“Because sportsmen enjoy hunting and fishing alone or in small groups, they are often overlooked as a constituency and as a substantial economic force,” notes Melinda Gable, Executive Director for the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation. “These impressive statistics actually underestimate the impact of sportsmen since they do not take into account the millions of hunters and anglers under 16 years of age, and people who were not able to get out and hunt or fish in 2001.”

Even through we belong to tons of organization and do everything we can to promote this way of life.

We have no voice in the general public.

Look at two great songs.

Tracy Byrd - Pass It On - Song from his Wonders of Wild Life Album, most have never heard of it and most Radio station never heard of it or played it or have it.

As a hunter and a father this song just makes me proud and even a tear in my eye on how true it is.

Now a new song by New Song by Hank Williams Jr.

Outdoor Lovin' Man - The Almeria Club - Album

Even though I request it and have listen to a couple of time it is a excellent way to voice who we are and look today and it is not even in the top 40.

Maybe I am making to much of this but is it us are we to divide or is it them and they won't let us be shown but in a negative way.

Don't get me wrong we have come along way. 3 channels on TV. Outdoor Radio shows on lots of different stations, Newspaper columns on hunting.

But just everyday broadcast in the news local and national. Just dosen't happen.

Are we this weak? Who has the control?
