RE: Official Team Monsters Inc. (2) Thread
I may have one more day for hunting before the season closes. Earlier this season I shot a doe that had a young eight pointer following her and then later in the week passed up 10 and 11 point bucks that looked to be 2 1/2 year old bucks. I had the pin on the 11 pointer who was quartering away at 25 yards but I let him pass. QDM is easy when it's spikes and forks, but it's a lot harder to let a buck like him go. I knew there were bigger bucks as we had pictures of the bigger ones. I had one of them in range the last morning of my hunt. I would guess he was a 170 class buck. He came by me at 15 yards about 90 miles an hour right on the heels of a doe. I pulled back and had the pin on him but I didn't feel right about trying a shot at a running deer so I tried to stop him-to no avail. I do know that the four biggest bucks on that property made it through the gun season, so they should be just as or more impressive next year.
