I bought a Barnett Ranger 150 lb. a few years ago as a starter bow to try out and practice with , and even hunt with it . It's done that job well , but I agree with the others that it's not what I want in the long term . I moved up to an Eagle-I 180 lb. recurve style , which was similar enough in design that the transition to the heavier poundage was simple . My next move will be to save up for an Excalibur , model to be determined . I don't like compound models , too many moving parts for my taste , and the Excaliburs are more than fast enough .

Barnett and Horton are somewhat like training wheels on a bike , nice to have at first , but eventually you want to ride a better bike .
