A lot of guys don't like them but I prefer the Simms slip on pads. Besides not needing to grind anything to fit, I think they dampen recoil more than the screwed on ones do. Besides if you trade guns you can keep your pad. I find that if I take off the original pad and slip on the slip-on, the stock still fits me well.
