RE: Which 200 dollar scope do you recommend
IMO the Burris FF-II is the best of the bunch. They compare real well with the Leupold VX-III line of scopes. They are a very bright and clear scope especially when you consider the price tag. They are definetly superior to Leupold VX-I & VX-II. I just bought two of these the other day. One to sit on top of a 338 ultra mag and the other to sit on top of a 300 WSM.
Next on the list and a very close second would be the Bushnell elite 3200. Also an excelent scope for the money. To my eye they are not quite as bright as the FF-II but are definetly an excelent scope.
And in third place would be the Simmons Atec or Nikon Buckmaster.
I wouldn't even consider a Leupold VX-1 or the Nikon Pro staff. Not even close to the others in quality, brightness or clarity.
You really don't have to spend $400 or $500 to get a high quality scope. You just have to know which ones to buy in order to avoid the junk.
