BTW, as to finishing off a deer after dark, I'm sure it is illegal here, and probably in most other places too! But, I'd rather be "humane," and end the deer's suffering, rather than go by the letter of the law!
To the "purist'," this IS technically poaching, and if the Game Warden catches me, and doesn't see it as something that HAD to be done, I'll live with the consequences! It is just one of those rare times that "ethics," and "legal," don't see eye-to-eye!
