DD, you can learn a lots about a person while in deer camp, or hunting! Its not a great situation, but at least you know what he's like, and it doesn't have to happen again!
If there are any doubts, you might talk to him, and he may feel as badly about it as you do! From what you've said though, I doubt it!
If he's not the kind of person you'd like to have hunting with you, then don't invite him again!
Again, you can learn a lots about a person by their hunting habits! To me there is something wrong about a person (hunting-wise anyway), who always wounds deer, but never recovers them!
I've heard some hunters talk like it is a measure of success to shoot, or shoot at a deer! You hear things like, " I shot a deer," or I found blood, but no deer!"
When you hear this from the same people over, and over, it makes you wonder!
