Default RE: Do You Think I Would Get in Trouble For This??

I think you are just here in hopes people will soothe your guilt by telling you "It's OK.......no problem......don't worry about it"
Good thing you don't get paid to analyze problems cause you were a galaxy away on this one...

I did remember seeing two deer leave together after the shot though.

Don't tell me to turn myself in because that ain't gonna happen! [:'(][/blockquote]

Both of these statements imply that there were 2 seperate deer and that you had broken the law.
Implied in your mind perhaps, but they are both factual...There were two deer that left the scene together and there is no reason to turn myself in because no laws were broken.

You know a little commons sense goes a long way. I remember a few years ago one of our esteemed (and I mean that respectfully) moderators entitled a thread something to the effect of "Help, Ihit running deer at 50 yards and I can't find it"... I knew right away that wasn't the case just because of who he was. As has been pointed out, even if that happened, that type of individual is not going to put it on a public forum...think about it....

Why would you keep a fetus in your freezer and take pictures of it?? That is pretty sick and also shows tremendous disrespect for the animal. What a black eye this thread is to hunting in general.
The fact that I am responding to this statementproves to myself I am an idiot.

Atlas I am usually amazed at your perspective of things so this is just par for the course. Where we differ however is that I respect your right to your opinion and refrain from attacking you.

I find your "know it all" attitude about bow huntingafter harvesting a couple of button bucks and a few (is that accurate or am I grossly off) other deer with a bow to be somewhat amusing.

Your own words show your ignorance on the subject of fetus' in relationship to breeding periods and fawn develpment. Many fetuses are photographed, frozen, and measured. While I would like to be able to take credit for the science of it I must admit I am not that sharp. This data provides information about the herd that some of us are interestedin and can learn from. I am sorry it does not meet your high standards. Our gun season just ended here the 18thand tens of thousand of does have been harvested in that venue. I would venture to say that over 90% of the folks that kill a doe in post rut are not aware the fetus is even in the gut pile.

It is not "sick" in any way nor "disrespectful" to the animal to inspect the fetus. Quite the contrary. It is for lack of a better word, a compliment to the species that a person would take the time, go to that effort, and have the know how to find a fetus as well as record any information it can give.

Surely youinspect the vitals of your kill for information...No more disrespectful or sick to do that thanto inspect the fetus for information. I don't expect most people to go to the extremes that I do to further their knowledge about their local herd. I don't look down on those that don't put that kind of effort into it, it is just something I do for my own knowledge and development.

Atlas even when I hunted in highpressured areas for meat years ago I chose not to shoot button bucks. When you shot one this year I sincerely congratulated you for it and didn't attack you for something I find rather silly. Further, I would fight for your right to hunt and shoot whatever was legal and not think twice about it. Again without attacking your style.
This thread is not even close to giving hunting a black eye. For that to happen you would have to look in the mirror!
