Default RE: Buffalo Ballets

I decided today to shoot one of my .54 caliber Renegades with some stuff other then roundball. SharpShooter seems very interested in ball-ets so I broke out a brand new box of 310 grain roundnose .54 caliber ball-ets and some 405 grain Aero Tip Powerbelts.

The powerbelt hits I marked with a blue marker. Shooting 100 grains of Goex 2f and the powerbelt it sprayed them a little more then I was comfortable with. I was shooting at 25 yards off a frozen solid bench rest (but we made do) and the weather conditions were; light snow, no winds and 20 degree outside.

I then swabbed the barrel clean and loaded 85 grains of Goex 2f and a 310 grain Ball-et. The first two shots told me the rifle was hitting right dead on the top of the front sight. I then made a slight adjustment and shot ten more trying to hit in the top part of the V. The rifle did real well with them. The round nose would get some good penetration, and they sure thumped the steel down range...
