I can tell one guide to say away from in Pike Co. IL. I spent right at $3000 with this guy saw a 160" deer on two different ocassions while leaving the area I was hunting. He never tried to get me on this deer after I made several request to him and my guide to hang a stan around the feild. I will agree with most that the guides are over rated in IL. However, I did speak with two guides this season as I was planing another trip back to IL. I feel like these guys would make every effort to put me on a top endbuck. I did not book with either since I was lucky enough to have some private land come available to me in Pike Co.
