Default RE: Preserving tusks

I have a great way to do it. I make necklaces all the time. Go to the hobby store and get regular air drying clay(they make it in the clay pot color and white, use the white if possible) Fill the tusks(after they've been bleached overnight of course) with the clay. Pack it in good. Let it dry and buff the whole thing the next day with a Dremel or sandpaper.Cover with clear nail polish. A day or two later, when the inside has had a good couple days to dry, you can drill through it to make holes for the string to make necklaces.Add a couple beads on each side....they come out real nice. I wear mine all the time when I'm hog huntin"
