I've always carried Cranford steps with me when bringing out my fixed-positions. While I love their obvious versatility, I think learning to use the steps comfortably could be a whole lot faster.
It would also add another choice when hunting public land like I do, as most states don't allow devices to be used which would harm the tree...
As far as your question, I can't help a bit... though I do have a friend who bought some and watched him use them a couple times... he could probably get up in a tree in about the same time as most could with a climber, if that helps any.
