Welcome LSH. Check out the Wisconsin and Illinois DNR sites. They list all public land with rules, regs and maps. Some great opportunities is Wisco. Do you only gun hunt? I wouldrecommend bowhunting because of the extended seasons, less hunters, etc. Plus you can get a shot at the big ones before the "orange army" comes through.
