dd, if anyone was to find the sheds off your buck if you hadnt of harvested him, i wonder how many ways a person would hold them to see what it looked like as far as spread goes. I know i woulda thought (holding those sheds in my hands) that they woulda been farther apart. never seen a set of horns with that exceptional mass go straight up and almost touch.
Shane I understand ..Ive been asked at shows about "Man whatif that buck had just anormal spread what would it have scored" ...but to be honest I LOVE this buck just the way it is ...had it had more spread yeh it would have scored higher butbeing from Alabama I am no score freakbecause we very seldome take a deer in this area that woud come close to B&C ... I could not have hand picked a buck I would have rather harvested ...I know some say thatthis buckis nothing just real special because it did not score over 200 BUT I can tell you that I think it's special because of its charactor ..it was aged to be between 7 and 9 years old having only 4 teeth left ..it has over 45 inchesof just mass not counting themass of the tines ... also had some type of tine on the left lower part of the main beam freshly broken...and a world class drop tine ...it was obviously a warrior becasue when wecaped him out his neck andchest was all brusied up from fighting and even with olny 4 teeth and after running doe's for over three weeks he still weighed 337lbs on the hoof ... now don't get me wrong just because I was lucky enough to be the guy that pulled the trigger does not make me a "SUPER" hunter ..it just makes me a blessed hunter.... yeh ..I think he is pretty special.
