If the weather holds out long enough for that wheat to get, say, hand high, you'll be able to set your clock by the deer coming to the field. Even though the deer are feeding on the acorns, they still like variety. When the wheat grows some, it will attract deer before cold weather. It's a sure thing into the winter months after the cold and frosts kills out all the other greenery in the woods.
