The 7X64 is a 280ish/30'06ish European cartridge. Many hunters in Germany use this fine cartridge. It is essentially a '06 necked down to 7mm with a case length of 64mm. The RL powder not meeting anyone's standards is rubbish. Norma is Norma and RL is RL....there is no cross reference that I know of. Personally, for lack of empirical data, I would start with a reasonable 280Rem load and work up from there. I wouldn't be so concerned with max loads as accuracy is paramount IMHO. Using your OAL gauge, you should be able to easily achieve 280 Rem performance with sub MOA groups.....after all, it is a Sako! I will e-mail a friend in England and see what he has to say.
