Sounds like it might be a little to much of a coincidence for it NOT to be your buck......same area, same type rack, same direction etc.
It doesn't take long to get things pretty nasty when the critters have a way in, and there is some heat.
I'm not there to see the exact circumstances, but I'd say theres a good chance you found your buck......sad to find it that way for sure.

How far from the shot location did you find him, and are there other hunters in the area that could have possibly lost a DIFFERENT buck?

I think the odds favor the possibility that it IS yours. Too bad bud.
