http://www.jdmcox.com/ It will allow you to download satelite pics and super-impose topo lines, roads,and waypoints on it. I think it will interact with your GPS as well. Don't have one but it has a GPS setting.

I second USAPhotomaps from
www.jdmcox.com. It does work with a GPS and it is my number one tool for desktop scouting. It uses the microsoft terraserver database and puts the info you download into a file on your hard drive so you can make maps/photos as large as you want as long as it doesn't cross from one UTM zone to the next. Great topos, aerials, grid lines, waypoint up/download, track or route up/downoad, etc. Too much to list, and it's FREE!
