Browning BAR 30-06 with Remington Core-lock 150 gr.
I had the same gun in .270, but I hunt more in the woods and rarely have a shot over 75-100 yds. so I like the heavier 30-06 which would be less likely to be deflected by brush obstruction. Also when I got the .270 I was still hunting with my dad all of the time (college days) and he had a 30-06. The thing about owning a .270 and a 30-06 is that both rounds will chamber in either gun. This wouldn't be that much of an issue firing a .270 round through a 30-06 (safety wise), but if you were to try and fire a 30-06 round through a .270 I would imagine that the result s would be bad. We never had any issues, but my dad was always very concerned that our ammo may somehow get mixed up. So I went back to the gun shop and traded for one like his.
I know that this was off topic a little, but I just felt like sharing this morning.
