I shoot the G5 Montec 100's and think they are a great broadhead. The one piece design makes for a tough head andthis broadhead penetrates well!Now I have only used them on Whitetails so I can't help you with Elkbut every shot was a passthrough and every passthrough stuck well into the ground after exiting the deer. One shot, the doe was quarting towards me at about 20yds. The arrow went through the right front shoulder and out the left side through the lastribb and still stuck 4in into the ground! That deerspun, ran for two or three strides then walked10 feet and dropped dead.

All of the deer dropped within sight and all broadheads were cleanedthensharpened on the stone for a few minutes, and putback into the quiver to be shot another day! I'm not saying you can't bend the tip if you hit a bigrock,it probably will, but if yourarrow does thatthenit means it's done it's job and exited the animal.....or you missed

I'm very happy with them and I think you will like them too. There are other very good broadheads out there, I'm just letting you know about the ones I have used. I have shot Thunderheads and like themtoo but they are not even close to the Montecs in my humble opinion. If I had been shooting Thunderheads instead I still thinkI would have killed all four deer. I don't know if I would have gotten a passthrough on the deer mentioned above and I'm very sure it would not have stuck into the ground after going through most of the deer.I do know that I would have had to buy four new sets of replacement blades by now. The crossfires are nice as well but at $20.00 a pop for the replacement cartridge that will add up quick. The ability to re-sharpen the Montecs is a plus. Theyare also very easy to sharpen.
