Good classic caliber and good for most deer. Use good bullets. Also think about 7x57 (or 7mm mauser), 250 savage, and my favourite small deer caliber, the 6.5x55.My buddy loves his .260 rem.I am one who believes in jsut enough gun. I shoot light recoiling rifles better than big ones
