RE: deer tracks
I've heard of 2 ways to tell the difference.
1) A buck walks more flat-footed and will therefore leave 4 marks, 2 main hoofs and 2 dew claws. A doe walks more upright, only leaving the 2 main hoof prints.
2) Doe urine falls straight down in the snow, while buck urine goes in at an angle. This 1 is fairly easy to see in the snow. Try it out, let me know what you find.
