Default RE: Getting started

As Encoreman said, there are many types and styles as well as calibers of muzzleloader out there. You need to look at what really appeals to you. Don't over look traditional rifles. They are a lot of fun. Then you need to think about what you want to hunt and what kind of distances you face. Also take into consideration your state laws. Some States demand certain calibers, styles, and ignition systems.

After that start reading posts about the rifle that you find appealing. Some of them have good features and some no so good. Most any muzzleloader will shoot out to 100 yards. After that it is a matter of practice and trial and error of projectiles and powder charges. I guess that's that makes the sport so fun.

Anything we can help you with, just ask... also welcome to the forum..
