RE: Ebay add!!! Check this out!
I have to laugh at the occassional high fence debate that takes place out here, usually in the Politics room. I really do not understand why most of you get so twisted over this subject. This is part of our economy, a luxury only the rich can afford - BIG DEAL! Really, who friggin cares? No, it's not hunting and most people I've talked to that hunt a penned ranch will be the first to admit it.
Example: A guy I know here in MI recently shot a super nice 7x7 bull elk in a 250 acre pen with his bow. The guy owns a business and works 70-80 hours per week. He loves feeding any kind of venison to his family and loves to hunt. He paid $3,500 to go shoot meat on the hoof as he termed it. He readily admitted that it wasn't hunting, but offered that going down to the local butcher shop and ordering a side of beef isn't either. Since he'd rather feed his family venison, he viewed the "hunt" as a fun way to go grocery shopping. I agree.
How many pheasant farms are in operation, how many hog farms, deer, elk, etc..?? It's a rather big chunk of the overall contribution the hunting sports has on our economy - these canned hunters need to buy weapons, clothes, gas, lodging, travel, ammo, etc.. I say let them.
Cows and chickens and hogs live a far worse life providing food for our tables than these deer ever will. Maybe we should ban those too?
Come on people, relax. It's not hunting. So what. Let them pay to shoot.
