I got one in an NEF earlier this year . Any centerfire is legal for deer here in Texas. I took a 160 lb 11 pointer with it at 15 yds, shot him in the neck and dropped him, I also took a 100 lb doe at 70 yds with a shot to the neck also, dropped her as well.
I shot some rabbits with it and it just blew them to pieces, way to big for rabbit or squirrel. It makes 4/5 the power of a .222 with 1/2 the powder. Shells are a little high, flatter shooting than the .17 HMR and tons more power with a lot bigger bullet. I like it.
Oh I took a 40 lb pg with it at 40 yds with a body shot and he dropped also.
Shot a 4 x 4 fence post with it and it blew clean through it.
I use the rem 45 gr Hollow points.
