Default RE: Golden Eagle Hunter Turbo Cam Bow

I believe this is it. Looks like mine. This is the only information I have found on it. Its in http://www.archeryhistory.com/compou...oldeneagle.jpg . Most of the information I gave you previously is correct. This is my first year back bowhunting since 1987. That was the year of the Golden Eagle. Everyone I knew said it was top of the line back then. They were made like this between 1980 and 1989.

I took mine into the bowshop to update as much as possible. The guy there said they were in danger of tips breaking because of the wooden laminate. However this has not been a problem and we cycled around 1000 arrows through it so far with no problems. The biggest difficulties they had back then was cables breaking. This one has a new cable so should be okay.

If you have purchased then you have purchased. Its a very smooth shooting bow and rather forgiving. Easy to learn with and rather quiet. Not terribly fast and by today's standards is rather antiquated. Not a bad bow to get into shooting and hunting but if I had a choice there are several faster bows on the market that can be purchased new starting around $200. With the things you got with it its not a bad deal.

Suggest looking at matching it with some of the new carbonaeros from Easton and maybe some 75-85 grain broadheads. Just be sure you get a good matchup to be sure you don't stress the limbs. hope this helps.

Hey, size may not matter but it sure IS nice!
