I carry a Glock 27 .40S&Wwhere ever I go. Very reliable, accurate and easy to carry.

There are a good many good pistols out there. I would suggest going to a range and renting a few and trying them on for size. You need something you can shoot comfortably but also be able to carry 24/7. If it's a pain to carry then you will proably leave it at hom where it will do you no good.

Do not skimp on the gun, ammo nor the holster. A good holster will all the differnce in the world.

Springfield XD's are another good pistol to look at.
