Default RE: Attn Quebec Caribou hunters !!!

Actually, Mirage called ahead and told us the herd wasn't down yet. They gave us options of which we decided to book a copter. It was an experience I'm glad to have done and enjoyed. I'd do it again in a heart beat. The views from the chopper are indescribable. It was a bitter cold morning. The thermometer at our cabin read 25 below on the Fahrenheit scale when we got up. It didn't bother us once we were dressed for it and the anticipation of the hunt helped I'm sure.
Nov. 24Th we were taken to a lake and set up an ambush ahead of some really nice bulls coming from another lake about 1/2 mile north of us.Our guide was very helpful. All of our shots were under 250 yards. Now on the other side of the coin, our friends were taken to a larger lake andall of their shooting was done at 300+ yards. Their guide basically ran them through the snow instead of setting up an ambush and told them to just shoot. They weren't too happy but filled their tags none the less. Just shows what a good guide can do.
When we left Saturday morning the bou were just beginning to cross the Trans-Taiga road. There are still some really nice racks on some heads but they are beginning to drop. We had a few of ours come off. Boy what a long ride and different experience it is to get there and back.
