I use an ear bud for silent listening. Lots of other hunters on the farm I hunt useradios and I listen to find out who is seeing deer, who is going to lunch, etc. When you have ten other hunters, that you don't know, hunting the same ground it is a real advantage to know where they are and what they are up to.
