RE: bedded deer...
Mauser, good luck on the bedded deer hunt! It will be one of the toughest hunts to accomplish. I have had several experiences with bedded deer and none of them were easy by no means. I've learned a lot about the situation though and one of the tips I would pass along would be to expect the bedded deer to be facing the down wind side. Remember, in this position he can smell anything from the upwind side and easily see any movement from the downwind side. If you can, approach from the side angle, in other words, if the wind is out of the north, make your stalk from the east or west. If you move slowly with no sound at all, you might have a chance although very slim at best. The main thing is to use binoculars to scan the brush as thoroughly as possible from a distance. A bedded deer is smaller than most people think. Good luck! If you are successful it will be a trophy no matter the size. This type of hunting is not unethical at all. The odds are still in the bucks favor.
