I cut a .257 Wby barrel from 26" to 24" about five years back. The velocity loss was right at 100 fps with 100 grain Hornady Interlock bullets and H-4831.
Coincidently that is exactly thevelocity differencethat I suggested in anotherthread about the 257wby.
