As mentioned several times, it only takes 1 second for something really bad to happen.

After my fall this year, I will NEVER go up or down a tree again without an ascender.....I just thank God that I am still here to make that choice!

BTW, for "The Mind".......this is not a lecture brother, just something to think about............I am in very good health, and can still benchpress the state of Rhode Island, but that did not help me one bit when I fell from less than 7 feet this year.

I literally came very close to dying due to loss of blood. That in itself does not bother me, what does bother me ALOT is what I put my wife through. 700 miles from home getting blood pumped into me as fast as they could get it in me, and hours of reconstructive surgery while my poor wife sat at home scared out of her mind......not a good thing for her to go through!

I was lucky, THIS TIME, I may not get back full range of motion in my arm, but I already have enough motion to get by fairly well.

Being an outfitter, and having hung somewhere around 2000 treestands in my life, I figured I was smart enough to NOT let something like this happen to me....I was wrong, and I ALMOST paid the ultimate price for it.

Nobody is bulletproof...........

Just something to think about when you are going up a tree.
