It is there to help steady the arrow on the draw. If you have a smooth draw, it probably will never touch the arrow. I left mine on simply becuase it may help if I draw on a deer and am &quot;shaking&quot; just a bit<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> I did put some shrink tubing on it just in case it ever does hit. I have found it doesn't effect flight one way or the other.
