RE: Catching live deer?????
My grandpa caught a fawn while he was cutting wood. The fawn was caught up in a barb-wire fence and my grandpa brought him home. We spent a good sum of money uilding a 8-foot high fence for him and while it was a large area for us to build and pay for, it was probably very little room for the deer. the high cost of food and water setup and other things. Then consider in the fact that this deer was very friendly and a decent pet his first year. After that, we never got in the pen with him anymore, he was dangerous and mean. Just his nature is all. I have no doubt he could have killed someone if they were in the pen with him when he was a 8 point. He eventually had to be killed after some dogs spooked him and he tryed to jump out and caught his leg in the fence and broke it severely. Deer are wild animals, needing lots of room to feed and breed, thats why they dont make good pets. You could stick a limb through the fence and he would take his rack and snap the branch in half like it was a toothpick, ramming his antlers into the fence.
