My heavier deer gun with the high brass sabot slugs shoots almost as hard as my lighter turkey gun with turkey loads. When I shot 2 3/4 rifled slugs out of my light turkey gun if was like half the kick.

Shells do matter when it comes to kick, but its a tough comprimise with KO power, accuracy, and money.
