??? Snow & The Rut ???
I hunt in Southwest Wisconsin, and have been bow hunting for 8 years. It may sound weird, but I have never bowhunted (early season) in the snow. Most years we don't get snow until after rifle season, and I don't bowhunt the late season. Well last night we got about 4 inches of snow. The rut is in full swing here, and bowhunting is open until tomorrow (Thursday). I have off work tomorrow and I am/was going to try and sit out in my stand all day long.
MY QUESTION IS:How will this snow affect the rut/deer movement? Do you think this snow will throw the bucks out of their rutting ritual? Do you think I should hunt my normal rut treestand? I know that during the winter, the does/deer will go where there is food. Do you think this snow will change the does rituals, thus making the bucks run different? Like I said I plan to hunt a lot tomorrow, so any advice is greatly helpfull. Thanks
