congratulations, theres nothing like taking you first deer. got any good ideas on how to get my girlfreind in the woods. I would die for her to take up hunting then i wouldnt have to always put up with her nagging about how im always in the woods and spending to much money on hunting when i should be with her and spending it on her. I've already gotten her hooked on fishing even though see WILL NOT touch the fish, but yet to get her in the woods
i really don't know what to tell you to do to get your girlfriend huntingwith you. i've always been one of those girls that if a guy does something, i want to be able to do it too. i've always loved going fishing, my dad started taking me when i was like 4. i will bait my hook, take my fish off, help load and unload off of the trailer, pull the empty trailer up to park, help pull in the anchor when the tide's not too strong etc. because i hate when a girl acts like she's so weak and feminine that she's helpless and makes her man do everything for her. don't get me wrong, i'm girly enough, my favorite color is pink but i like to get down and dirty every once in a while too!

offer to just take her to "watch". put her up in a treestand with you if you have a buddy stand, or climb up next to a ladder stand she's in. i know this is probably a crazy thought for you, but don't take your gun the first couple of times you take her in there. let her see just how quiet and still you haveto be whilethere are deer in the area. let her shoot your gun! i was afraid the first time i shotone ofrobert'sguns, a .22 magnum. i was so afraid of the noise and the kick from it!but then i realized that it's over with very quickly (and thereis NO kick from a .22 ). and let her practice until she's confident with her shot. robertis very impressed that i'm such a good shot! i thinkgirls are better at aiming and holding still than guys are anyway. we have much smaller hands and features, making us less cumbersome when it comes to drawing and shooting. take her walking in the woods with you, look for scrapes and rubs, teach herwhat they mean. watch hunting shows together! i've gotten so i will watch them when he's noteven there just because you geta chance to see how deer act in the woods, how easily they can wind you, how cautious they are! i havehonestly become intrigued by this awesome animal. whitetail deer are soooo intelligent, which causes me to haveso much interest in them and theirhabits. their intelligence also causes me to have a huge feelingof accomplishment when imanage to outsmart one. i seriously thought i was busted when thedeer i shot kept looking up at me...but then he'd put his head down and feed a little more. up until the moment i shot, i really didn't know if i'd be able topull the trigger and KILL this animal. but i did! i had a little conversation in my head with myself saying shoot! just do it! hurry up! he's gonna see you! and then it was like something else took over and bam! i shot. and then when i walked up on him, with robert, who was just as shocked as i was, it was like a big rush to see him laying there, just a totally indescribable feeling.
just take your time with yourgirlfriend-you could be really getting yourself into something because she could turn out to love it and want to gowhenever you do or hell, even by herself! but if she doesn't, oh well. at least you offered to take her with you and let her experience what you get out of it. i hope this has helped
