RE: Was this a bad shot?
There was only one time since I've been bowhunting (26 years) that I advised someone to take a head shot. We were tracking a buck that my friend hit in the liver. We came upon the buck (still alive) in the thickest stuff possible (we were crawling on our knees), the deer had its rear end facing us and had it's head turned broadside. We couldn't get to the side of the deer because of the thickness of bushes surrounding it. In order to put another arrow into it, I told my friend to take the head (brain shot) instead of a rump shot. He made the shot at about 8 yards.
