Default Finally Success!!! Story

After hunting hard all season (including over 30 hours in the past week), finally something went right. This season has been horrible, I cant seem to get on the deer.

So this morning I wake up real late and decide to hunt a stand built between 3 oaks trees this past summer. Access to this stand is really easy . Still I walk up to edge of the woods and there are deer everywhere. by the grace of god I got up in the stand without spooking any of them. So after 30 minutes I have seen 12 deer, then a decent sized forkhorn starts working my way.

With illinois gun season next weekend, I went from monster buck mode to meat mode. I stop him at 35 yards and let it fly. The PSE baby G was dead on and the wasp hammer 100 grains did the job just fine.

With my shot placement being near perfect, I thought recovery would be easy, but it took 4 hours...oh well thats why its called hunting.

Side note: It felt good to finally christen the new bow. I always write the date on my bow when I get one and I do the same to all of my stands...just a little tradition.
