Default MY FOOD PLOTS

1st year planted whitetail clover. about 15'x45'. saw a little deer activity, allot of what i think is rabbit ****.2nd year expanded and planted 25'x40' of alfalfa rack plus with 25'x50' of green patch plus or full draw, can't remember[:@]. put a mock scrape in the middle around mid September and used doe/buck urine. freshened1 time a week till about the rut then i hit it any were from 1-3 times a week with a mixer of what i call my HOT JUICE. it is 1 oz active scrape, 1 oz doe urine, 1 oz estrus, 1 oz buck urine and 20 oz my own piss. ya i know crazy, but after reading a post here about some old time pissing on his scrapes and having the deer come to it i had to try it. i put it all i a 24 oz spray bottle and carry it with me all the time. does it work. i guess, deer keep coming to the scrape. way i look at it is my piss is nothing but a cutter for the concoction. deer seem to like the plots. there small but buttoned up to the woods and have tall grass all around it. i use round-up in a sprayer and hit the ground early spring when i get a chance when it's not raining. i made the mistake of using miracle grow. did nothing but bring in the weeds, probably the nitrogen. so next year I'll clean it up, replant a mix. along a hedge row this springi plant just brassics. i really like them. they last till January and are big, juicy and big/strong enough to put up with these upstate new york winters. i don't use a rototiller anymore, laziness. i just lay the seed after/during a rain and hit it with a roller on the back of the mower. hard rain will also help plant these seeds I've notice. i love my plots. they were relatively easy (round-up did all the work fallowed by the mower when the grass is dead). picked up some bags at wall-mart in the late winter on saleyep if u don't do it boys u should. and I'm proof u don't need a lot of land to be successfully.
