Melanistic deer dont necessarily have an all black coat, but rather are much darker in color than a regular deer...just to clarify.
also, piebalds are the most common, then albino, then melanistic i think melanistic is something like 1:1,000,000 or some crazy odds like that, i've only ever seen 2 pictures of them, the one about and then a lady shot one a few years ago.
I wonder if albinism, and melanism is common in Mulie's or other deer species? could be interesting!
