my weekend story
I got permission to hunt this 80 acre trac of land with 2 of my buddys for the weekend. Sawa Doe in the mourning but to to far away. In the EveningI saw nothing so started to put away my blind at dusk. Then i see my buddy walking towards me. He says "help me find myarrow-I just shot at the biggest buck I've ever seen"I say did you hit him? He says not sure cause when the bow snapped this mature deer ducked like the "Matrixmanuver". Well sure enough we found blood and his arrow competly covered in blood, and westarted tracking right away cause it was beginging to rain. We tracked this buck for 1/2 mile with a great blood trail, than over the fenceto someone else's property, then it stormed like crazy {this is the same storm that killed people in Indiana}. We called it quits and decided to come out first thing in the mourning. Of course all blood was forever lost.
Next mourning I called everybody I knew to help search(2-4wheelers-15guys). 7 hrs later we came up with nothing! Now for the cool part of the story . During our search. We found a nice 200 pound plus 8 point buck that had lodged his rack in a fork tree and was mortley stuck and would have died for sure.(If he was on our hunting ground we would have taking him). Butwe freed him from sure death and we wereproud to watch him run free. I have cell phone pics being e-mailed to me and will post them asap, there unbelievable.
I've never been so sick about not finding a deer and I didn't even shoot it[X(]. My buddys and I are veteran hunters and aregreat trackers andhave aways found our deer, always! I hate the though of Coyotes getting such a awesome animal. I can't stop thinking of what we could have done differant. I thinkmy wife is going to kill me if I say one more thing about it. I'll post pics of the 8 piont when I get em.
