On the baiting -vs- CWD issue. At one of Wisconsins CWD meetings , the truth behind the DNR's eagerness to ban baiting finally came out. The "ban baiting to prevent CWD" was the perfect smoke screen the DNR needed to do what they've wanted to do for some time. A local bioligist spilled the beans so to speak when he said that "because of baiting , Wisconsin is failing to keep deer numbers in check"<img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle> I can see his point in that regard , as alot of hunters would feed the deer all winter long which would drastically reduce the number of winter kills. It has never been proven anywhere that baiting spreads CWD.
