I think it matters on where you hunt. If you hunt an area with plenty of big deer(dominant) and the doe to buck ratio is 1:1 then have at it. You never know combination will work.
If you have a doe to buck ratio that is out of whack 4 does to 1 buck. Then IMO you can rattle and grunt to the cows come home, but calling in a DOMINANT buck is very rare(Not Impossible).
I look at like this, If I was in a bar with 1:1 female to male ratio and a female gave the come home with me look. How many guys would be postering, posing, or fighting for the female. On the other side if 4:1 female to male ratio, well so what if one says come home with me, there are plenty more for me. Dominat Bucks are pigs just like us, lol
