Default RE: Canadian Whitetails

Shed way to go on your successful season...that is a great whitetail you arrowed!!!! Where I am hunting I haven't seen to many that have that chocolate colouring to their horns, they are a lot lighter but one can't have a collection of all the same kind any way! I may head north to try to fill my second either, so still may get a dark set.

Hia, did you get one of them bucks you were chasing? Details???????

JD, didn't hunt this weekend but did some early am scouting yesterday and saw some great signs. I caught what I believe is one of the bucks I have been waiting on.I never got the best look at him but find it hard to believe thattheir are 2 mainframe 4x4's with a drop tine in this area that I wouldn't alreadyhave noticed this fact. The bad news if so he has moved off but the good news I have permission to hunt this tract of land as well. I found his play ground - rub and scrape littered. I am planning on putting up a blind in a skinny meadow on weds and possibly rattling it mid day later this week. I am giving her nails starting weds through till next weds.I also saw the 5x5 I passed running a doe, she wasn't anywhere close to willing but he was still giving it a go. They crossed right in front of where I was positioned and believe I may have misjudged him slightly, heis better beams than I credited him last week with...no regrets though. Best of luck to you this week.

DoubleA, yes we have had some white stuff and lots of frost. The weathermen can't agree on a long range though, some say warming while other are saying cooler. It'll be what it'll be but you should be ok, as the signs sure point to the rut is approaching. IMO the chase phase or late pre rut is dynamo as well, you will hit one of these phases up that way next week FO SHO! The worse part with warming trends are the higher chance of E or S flows...something few bank on this time of the year. It can make it tough to hunt choice spots as they expect N or W flows this time of year. This has been happening more the past few years so I would expect the outfittershave made plans around these flows...like I and other hunters have. Enjoy your hunt and best of luck to you/your hunting party.

I think this picture is ok quality. I snappeda pic in part of hisrubline when scouting yesterday am. No deer but at least sign one visits the area...lol.
