Default RE: Canadian Whitetails

Well our South Texas season opened here without much hoopla Saturday. I took a youth from my church and though we saw 9 diiferent bucks I did not let him pull the trigger. He is somewhat of a greenie, he told me he had never even seen a buck on the trips he has made before with friends. I was trying to teach him patience and the "let em grow routine" We did have a good time being out in the wild and I have about 45 minutes of video which I know in 15 years he will cherish.

Now on with the show, I have seen that some parts of Saskatchewan are getting some flurries which is a good sign. I leave for Edmonton early Saturday morning and will make the drive to Peirceland Sunday. I have both my 300WSM and 375HH shooting 2-2 1/2" high at 100 yards as I have heard in the colder temps they will shoot a bit lower. Most likely will fire a couple of rounds at camp to make sure.
My nephew call me this morning and told me he was able to getthe "shakes" out of his Bowtech yesterday as he was able to put down a nice south texas 5x5 which green scored 152BC and change. He, myself and a friend are getting all jiggy on next weeks hunt!

Lately I can not seem to get this song out of my head.....

let it snow let it snow.....LET IT SNOWWWWWW

Here's to the Crown
